So take some of your standard compound exercises, squats, bench press, curls and overhead presses, and rows. If you focus on increasing poundage through a set period of time and done with correct guidance, these exercises alone will give you the most effect muscle weight gain.

- Never do more than 10 reps in a set, less is good. If you do more than this you start activating your slow twitch muscle fiber which has very little effect on muscle growth. So keep it heavy and under 10 reps.
- Reduce your workout time. If you do this there is less rest between sets which will stimulate muscle growth much faster. Harder work the results speak for themselves
- Do only one exercise per muscle group. This is all need if you stick to a core compound exercise
- Keep to 3-5 sets per muscle group. There is no need for more. If you are lifting heavy weights, you will find this is perfect. You should be finding you have hit the wall at this point anyway. That's what we are after!!
- Increase your strength every two weeks by 5%. Do this and you get results. Plan and simple.
